Preventive Maintenance Mechanic
Who we are:
Very Good runs best-in-class beverage production for leading alcohol and alcohol-alternative brands. Our first R&D Facility in Fort Worth has four high-speed bottling and canning lines, and a full research & development lab on-site for private-label brands, new beverages, and in-house testing.
We tripled in size and output in 2023 and have multiple larger facilities planned for 2024 and 2025. Our team is growing quickly, and we are looking for professional, talented, and driven individuals to join our team and grow with the company.
About the role:
We're looking for a talented PM Mechanic to lead the preventative maintenance service efforts on our processing and packaging equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
We’re growing fast, and always installing new and/or upgrading existing equipment on our production lines. For mechanics interested in high-speed bottling and canning, this is a unique opportunity to learn fast, work on interesting, challenging projects, and make substantial career advancements.
Compensation:
$65,000 - $95,000 per year
What you'll work on:
- Develop, implement and execute a facility-wide preventive maintenance program.
- Implement spare parts inventory plan and planned equipment upgrade programs for each production line.
- Perform root cause analysis, and troubleshoot solutions, for recurring downtime.
- Perform troubleshooting and repair of auxiliary equipment - chillers, air compressors, Reverse Osmosis (RO), and other liquid filtration/processing equipment.
- Work with other Mechanics and Production Line Leads to diagnose and resolve cross-functional problems.
- Lead packaging line changeovers and equipment installs/upgrades.
- Create SOPs for Production Line Leads and Line Operators to effectively troubleshoot machine breakdowns during production.
- Direct activities of outside contractors or technicians working on production lines.
- Define requirements and lead overhaul efforts to rebuild equipment to like-new status during planned downtime.
You have experience with some or all of the following:
- Variable frequency drive (VFD), servo drives, and servo motors.
- PLC programming and automation/control systems.
- Electrical systems, including 480VAC & 24VDC power.
- Electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics.
- Installing new processing/packaging equipment on production lines.
- Diagnosing/troubleshooting production line equipment.
- Performing preventive maintenance procedures.
- Fabrication - cutting and welding (mig, tig or stick).
- HVAC - chillers and air compressors.
- OEM equipment - Shibuya Hoppman, PolyPack, Domino, Sacmi, Angelus.
