Who we are:
Very Good Manufacturing runs beverage production for leading alcohol & alcohol alternative brands. We specialize in distilled spirits and RTD cocktails, and our high speed canning and bottling lines accommodate all TTB approved sizes and fill levels. We have an on-site R&D Beverage Laboratory for private label concepting & formulation.
Our company is growing fast: the Fort Worth, Texas production facility tripled in size in 2023. We are looking for professional, talented and driven individuals to join our team and grow with the company.
About the role:
Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Continuous Improvement, the Maintenance Technician ensures up to four high-speed production lines run smoothly, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.
Our ideal candidate for this role has experience working in a mechanical, electrical, or engineering role; is interested in how alcohol and spirits/RTDs are bottled or canned; and can learn fast with on-the-job experience.

$55,000 - $75,000 per year
Schedule:
2pm - 10pm, Monday - Friday
What you'll do:
- Production Support: Ensure every production line runs smoothly, from mechanical systems and packaging machines, to batching, processing, and auxiliary equipment. Work with the Production teams, including Line Leads and Production Line Team members: solicit feedback on machine operation, identify recurring problems, and provide mechanical expertise and training where appropriate.
- Equipment Diagnostics: Utilize advanced troubleshooting techniques to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems across various production equipment.
- Preventive Maintenance: Work with the Preventive Maintenance Mechanic to ensure production lines are always properly maintained and prepared to run with maximum uptime. Make recommendations for necessary spare parts and backup equipment for more efficient performance.
- Auxiliary Systems Maintenance: Troubleshoot and maintain auxiliary systems such as chillers, air compressors, and Reverse Osmosis equipment, ensuring optimal performance.
- Fabrication and Equipment Installation: Execute fabrication tasks such as cutting and welding (MIG, TIG, or stick) for process piping and other system components. Work with the Production and Operations teams to coordinate planned downtime to complete installs, repairs, or replacements.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate maintenance logs and performance records for all equipment, ensuring compliance with operational standards and to better understand the impact of maintenance-led initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in maintaining and repairing complex machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics to effectively troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, particularly 480VAC and 24VDC power, with the ability to troubleshoot electrical components effectively.
- Capability to fabricate and modify equipment and piping systems as required for operational improvements.
- Skilled in the use of shop equipment such as hydraulic and mechanical presses, bench grinder, drill press, mill and lathe, and assorted power tools
- Experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment with a focus on maximizing uptime and production efficiency.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2+ yrs experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field/trade: electrical, automotive, fabrication, hydraulics, HVAC, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with industrial control systems and automation technology, including PLC programming.
- Experience with filling and/or packaging equipment, such as fillers, seamers, labelers, motors, servos, and/or pumps and piping.
- Proficient in diagnosing and repairing variable frequency drives (VFDs), servo drives, and servo motors, including related control systems.
- Technical degree or certification in mechanical or electrical technology or related field.
Physical, Environmental Requirements:
- The use and wear of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks related to equipment maintenance.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; standing for extended periods; and working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with variable temperatures.
