About Very Good Manufacturing:

Very Good Manufacturing is a rapidly growing beverage manufacturing company trusted by the world’s leading alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage brands. We design and build innovative production lines emphasizing efficiency, consistency, flexibility, and rapid changeover. With state-of-the-art capabilities and a relentless commitment to quality, we position production as a competitive advantage—not merely a cost center.

Our company is growing fast: the Fort Worth, Texas production facility will be at full capacity by the end of 2025 with plans of opening a second location by years end. We are looking for professional, talented and driven individuals to join our team and grow with the company.

About the role:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering & Continuous Improvement, the Production Technician ensures up to four high-speed production lines run smoothly, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Our ideal candidate for this role has experience working in a mechanical, electrical, or engineering role; is interested in how alcohol and spirits/RTDs are bottled or canned; and can learn fast with on-the-job experience.

We are a talented, fast-paced team with a ton of exciting projects underway.  This is a fantastic opportunity for the right person to get in early, make an impact, and move up within the organization.

Compensation:

$55,000 and up DOE

Schedule:

Weekdays

What you'll do:

  • Ensure every production line runs smoothly, from mechanical systems and packaging machines, to batching, processing, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings and testing equipment as necessary.
  • Develop and execute Maintenance SOPs for production lines and critical systems, including: daily routine inspection, daily routine maintenance, planned preventive (condition- or volume-based) maintenance at regular intervals.
  • Make recommendations for necessary spare parts and backup equipment for more efficient performance.
  • Work with the Preventive Maintenance Mechanic to ensure production lines are always properly maintained and prepared to run with maximum uptime.
  • Work with the Production teams, include Line Leads and Production Line Team members: solicit feedback on machine operation, identify recurring problems, and provide mechanical expertise and training where appropriate.
  • Regularly join and work on production shifts to observe machine function and troubleshoot during operation.
  • Work with the Production and Operations teams to coordinate planned downtime to complete installs, repairs, or replacements.
  • Maintain adjustment and maintenance logs for all major machines and packaging equipment.
  • Maintain performance and down-time/efficiency logs for all major machines and packaging equipment to better understand the impact of maintenance-led initiatives.

What you'll bring:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in mechanical technology or related field preferred.
  • 1-2+ yrs experience in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field: electric, automotive, fabrication, hydraulics, HVAC, etc.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with experience in maintaining and repairing complex machinery.
  • Experience with the safe use of tools and machinery associated with trade and/or maintenance work.
  • A strong desire for accuracy and high levels of attention to detail, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Self-motivated to drive continuous improvement across the entire Production team.
  • Bonus: Experience with filling and/or packaging equipment, such as fillers, seamers, labelers, motors, servos, and/or pumps and piping.
  • Bonus: Experience with PLC programming.
  • A strong desire for accuracy and high levels of attention to detail, in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Self-motivated to drive continuous improvement across the entire Production team.

Physical, Environmental Requirements:

  • The use and wear of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physical tasks related to equipment maintenance.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment; standing for extended periods; and working in a manufacturing/warehouse environment with variable temperatures.
